something that adds value
Accessory Activity Book
The Buzzword partners designed this kit to inspire your family to keep learning together. We chose activities that build on your child’s natural curiosity, encouraging a growing vocabulary and a deeper engagement with books.
First, read with your child through Bear With Me by Kerascoët. Then, go through the different activities and ideas together, taking time to explain the meaning of the words and connecting them to your child’s real-life experiences.

An ACCESSORY adds value to something. Whether it be a book, an imaginary friend or a beloved pet, there are many things that fill our lives with love and affection. These books center on some of those wonderful ACCESSORIES in all of our lives, and the meaningful bonds we form with them. Talk to the kids in your life about the ACCESSORIES that make their lives better — be it a stuffed toy or a garden down the street.

Make a Leaf Mask ACCESSORY
Let’s make a fun leafy mask ACCESSORY with Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy by collecting colorful leaves from outside and glue them on a mask. You will be stylish with an ACCESSORY and ready for an adventure.
Materials: eye mask, glue, markers, leaves
Step 1: Go outside and collect a variety of different leaves. Choose a few with fun shapes and colors.
Step 2: Plan your design by laying the leaves on the mask first - no glue yet. See how you want it to look first.
Step 3: Use the glue bottle to squeeze little dots of glue onto the paper mask.
Step 4: Gently press each leaf onto the glue. Hold it for a few seconds so it sticks well. Let dry.
Step 5: Go on a leafy adventure with your new ACCESSORY!
