The event celebrates the 26 letters of the alphabet. Activities include life-sized story sets, musical entertainment, puppet parades, face painting, children's art activities, and more.
The free event promotes early and elementary aged literacy as well as celebrates the joy of reading. Held annually on the second Saturday in September, the event is the largest read-aloud activity in Western Pennsylvania.
Some of this year's literary selections include Rachel Bright and Nadia Shireen's "Slug in Love," Peter Brown's "Mr. Tiger Goes Wild," and Mo Willems' "Don't Let the Pigeons Drive the Bus!"
Alphabet Trail & Tales will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 in Frick Park at the Blue Slide Playground entrance off Beechwood Boulevard and Nicholson Street.
