The second annual Great Pittsburgh Book Crawl will run from Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, July 26 in a number of southwestern Pennsylvania counties, including Allegheny, Butler, Westmoreland, Armstrong, Beaver, and Washington.

“The big overall goal here is to bring better awareness to the community that indie bookstores are here, and we want to be part of your everyday life,” Lizzie McCoy, the owner of Brentwood’s Blythe Books, told Kidsburgh.

Events at the participating stores are designed to appeal to all ages. Those interested in taking part in the book crawl can pick up a free passport at any of the participating bookstores beginning on July 18.

Participants can get their passport stamped at every store they visit if they are able to find the hidden object at each store or make a purchase. With at least 15 stamps, participants can be entered in a raffle to win a mystery prize.

A map of the participating stores is available online.
