During the free virtual event, students will listen to a storytime reading of Pfister’s “Rainbow Fish and the Great Escape” and learn how to draw rainbow fish. Then, participants will be able to ask Pfister questions about being an author and illustrator.
The book is the tenth in the best-selling “Rainbow Fish” series, which encourages care and respect for the ocean and its creatures. In the book, Rainbow Fish and friends have to contend with escaping a trawling net.
The hour-long event will begin at 2 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, October 14.
Pfister was born in Switzerland and trained as a graphic artist. His first picture book was published in 1986, but his breakthrough was in 1992 with “The Rainbow Fish.” He has published more than 60 books.
